We recently had the privilege of hosting some of the staff of the Global Fund for Women here in Sausalito. Among the incredible women we met—and, yes, I am dropping names here—were Dr. Musimbi Kanyoro, President and CEO; Jane Sloane, Vice President-Programs; Christine Switzer, Director of Principal Gifts; and Erika Guevara-Rosas, Program, Director for Latin America & the Caribbean. Here is a photo I snapped of the crew back at our offices after lunch, along with a photo of Musimbi with a few of Isabel’s books.

Christine Switzer and Jane Sloane
Let me say that this lunch was a LOVE fest (which had absolutely NOTHING to do with the sake we consumed either!). I can honestly say it took all my willpower not to move to Nicaragua and join the frontline of women fighting for abortion rights, or even just to move into the GFW offices and make them all tea every morning. Their work is that inspiring and meaningful.
Here is the group’s mission statement, which I pulled from on its website (and which I urge you to look through; it will inspire you, I promise!):
We advance the rights of women and girls worldwide by increasing the resources for and investing in women-led organizations and women’s collective leadership for change.
We LOVE you, Global Fund for Women!

My dear Sarah .. newly arrived from a vacation south of my beautiful country! .. is difficult and delicate the issue … I fight for life .. for healthy living through life where man can rely, is atrocious .. think of taking the life of a being .. besides so helpless k ……. but empathize with this woman who was raped .. bring a brainless child, a child with multiple physical and mental well!!,, also without the resources to provide treatment … requiring a lifetime … life is hard enough for those who are fairly “normal” I find a crime to bring a child and sentenced to a living death! God gives life …. god taketh … but God says .. Help yourself and I will help you!
One issue that touches the skin and soul … I have had no experience so far … but in the times we live …. with pain to destroy raw guts dome … rather have a ami angel side … that a child doomed to constant suffering!
My dear Sarah …. Isabel tell that I love … a huge hug for you!
